The city of Ferrara
Ferrara is the city that you don't expect, the one that can't be described in words as it needs to be experienced, listened to and savoured. Ferrara is the city of the Este family, Ludovico Ariosto, Torquato Tasso and Nicolò Copernico. It is the city of great 16th century painters, Biagio Rossetti and Michelangelo Antonioni. It is the city of enchanting fog, the surrounding countryside, the thousands of bicycles cycling through it and cappellacci con la zucca (pasta stuffed with pumpkin). Ferrara is a UNESCO World Heritage city. The battlemented towers of the Este Castle, the marble of the Cathedral, the frescoes of Palazzo Schifanoia, the atmospheres of the medieval alleys and the wide Renaissance streets are unique places able to welcome and amaze visitors. www.ferraraterraeacqua.it
