Second edition of FuturPera – the World Pear Fair
The specialist show aims to involve and create connections between all the players in the supply chain in three days of highly innovative contents, where the prospects of Italian and international pear growing are the absolute feature. Again for the 2017 edition, there will be a large exhibition and commercial part covering 16 thousand m2 in an updated location hosting the best quality pear growing companies alongside companies dedicated to sales/marketing and logistics, manufacturers of low environmental impact phytosanitary products and innovative equipment, as well as drone manufacturers and companies working on precision agriculture.
One of the main aims of the event is to create moments for meeting and making connections with international buyers to promote the internationalisation of the product. In fact, finding openings on the foreign markets is one of the key elements in the commercial aspect which over recent years has seen new opportunities open up, not only in Europe, with Germany and France in the lead among the destination countries, but also outside Europe, towards the USA.
New for FuturPera 2017 is its “greener” approach. In fact, there will be a section completely dedicated to organic produce, a sector that its constantly developing and certainly represents one of the many possibilities for the future of pear growing and not only in relation to production. New scenarios and trends will also be explored during FuturPera.There will be a full, high-profile schedule of events alongside the exhibition part, including numerous technical meetings during which the market setting, prospects of phytosanitary defence, research into varieties and the prospects of the whole sector will be explored with top national and international experts.
As for the 2015 edition, FuturPera will also step outside the Ferrara Fiere pavilions, the hub of the event, for a series of “off site” events totally dedicated to pears involving the whole production world of the city and an area that produces 70-80% of top quality Italian pears. Over the days during which FuturPera is taking place, Ferrara will be intensifying its role as the “Italian Pear Capital” becoming the focus in its urban and rural setting for underlining the economic, culinary and cultural importance of a sector that is the heart and soul of the agricultural world of Ferrara and the Po Valley, from Modena to Rovigo.
